Chapter 17: Death Message

 "Tyler,why the hell would the president suddenly shower Mr Gallows' bank with that huge sum of money?" Jason asked

"My guess is as good as yours,this is either blood money or money laundry. Individually they're both grievous crimes but together, we could be looking at one of the biggest scandals in the country's history." Tyler replied

"Let's just hope it is one of the above or neither, I'm not ready to be handling another case right now. We need to focus on the case that we have already. Its giving me sleepless nights already" Jason said as he let out a sigh

"Jason,what if.....what if this money is related to our case? I mean, look at the time frames that this guy is receiving the cash. One transaction just when Daymond is being prosecuted is a coincidence. But another transaction just when the official court hearings are about to begin, that's not by accident." Tyler said as he dug deeper into the account." Wait a minute..."he suddenly said

"What? What have you found out?" Jason asked a bit anxious as he could even hear the constant tapping of Tyler's keyboard

"I think I just found a message related to the cash. It was sent immediately after the second transaction from the bank that was used to send the money" Tyler said

"Hold up,banks nowadays send messages to their clients? What do they say,'happy spending'?" Jason asked a bit sarcastic

"Haha....real funny. You don't get it, the white house used Golden Estate Bank. The bank has a mandatory requirement to all it's customers who send money with more than one million. You must send a message to the recipient indicating reason for payment so that the bank helps to regulate illegal transactions. Think of it more like a receipt." Tyler said as he tried to retrieve the message.

"Well that will be some great news if you can find tell me what the President put down as reason for payment" Jason said as he adjusted his seat

"That's another mystery Jason, the message is encrypted. And not just the simple encryptions that I can bypass in a matter of seconds like the normal ones,this particular one has been blocking me out of the text for about a minute now and I'm getting impatient. Tyler said as he continuously tried to break the encryption.

"Well now Tyler,you wanted something to keep you busy. I think you just found it." Jason replied.

"I'll be done in no time. And Jason, if my theory is not wrong, once I break the code something might happen. I'm not so sure but I have a bad feeling about what will happen. I can already smell a trap." Tyler told him

"Well,it wouldn't be the first time we're caught in a trap yet here we are. You do your thing,we'll worry about the Jack in a box surprise later" Jason said as he hang up the phone and leaned back

'What are you trying to hide Mr president?'Jason asked himself

Meanwhile at the State House

The president was seated in his chair on a call with his wife,

"I know you miss me but you knew I'm going to be a busy man when you married me,don't say I didn't warn you" he said with a chuckle

"I knew that but I didn't prepare for this, its been almost two weeks since I last saw you. Even Brianna is asking when she will get some rime to spend with her old man" Natalie responded

"You know its campaign season and I need to be one step ahead of my opposition. I'm sure you want to be calling me Mr President for one more term,don't you?" He asked

"Loki,don't start all that politics talk with me. Its on a Monday, schedule how you will be with us for the weekend and I'm not taking no for an answer. You are missing out on your daughter's life, did you know she has a boyfriend already?" Natalie asked

"Wait what?!! She's only nineteen! How could you let that happen?" Loki asked

"Me? Last time I checked it was the daughter's fathers who'd strike fear into any boy that would approach their daughter. Who am I to take up that role? That's why I need you here this weekend, so that you can have a father daughter bonding time and grown up talk as father to daughter" she replied

"Fine,you got me. I'll be there this weekend, but so just you know, Brianna might just get a baby brother that weekend" Loki said with a wild grin on his face

"We'll know then cowboy, we'll know" she replied

As Loki was about to say something else,his personal assistant knocked on the door and came in almost immediately without waiting for an answer. Loki turned his attention to her and asked out loud,

"Uhhhm excuse me! You are supposed to knock and wait for me to say 'come in' then you come in. What the hell was that? What's the need to knock and then let yourself in?" He asked in an angry tone at how the secretary kind of barged into his office

The secretary, clearly taken back at the President's lashing suddenly felt like sinking into her clothes and disappearing completely when she remembered what made her let herself into the oval office without waiting for authorization from the president. She first of all fumbled at her words a bit which seemed to be making Loki even more upset that he seemed like he was about to blow a fuse. After some deep breaths she managed to calm herself down while Loki, phone still held to his ear, watched her with anger in his eyes

"Mr Ray is on line three for you Mr President. He said its urgent, thats why I came barging in,I'm sorry about that" she finally managed to say as she looked at the ground sheepishly trying to to avoid eye contact with Loki's furious gaze.

"Couldn't you just tell him to wait until I'm done with my call?" He asked her,now a bit relaxed

"He said it's a must he talk to you now. His exact words were 'I need to talk to him pronto,it's a code black'" she responded

Immediately the president heard this,his face went pale and he nearly dropped the phone. He turned his attention to his wife who was still on the call listening to everything.

"I'm sorry baby,I have to go now to attend to some serious matters" he said to her

"Is everything alright?" She asked

"Yes of course,everything's fine. I just need to sort out a tiny problem. Tell Brianna that I love her so much and will make sure I'm home for the weekend.I love you Natalie" he said as he waited for her to respond so that he switches lines. After she said her last words he finally switched to line three,

"Good afternoon Mr Ray" he greeted him

"Mr president, so nice to hear your voice so calm and cool because I hate to be the bearer of bad news" Ray responded

"What bad news?" He asked but before Ray could reply he added something, " wait,give me a moment before you do that "

This is because he noticed that his secretary was still standing at the door doing particularly nothing but listening to his conversation. He didn't know whether she was spying on him or just pure stupidity who's main aim was to piss him off

"Excuse me! Is it 'piss off your boss day'? Huh?! What the hell are you doing still standing there? Don't you have work to do?" He shouted at her which startled her into turning and shutting the door behind her

"Ok, now tell me what the hell is so important that you declared it a code black?" He asked as he run his fingers in his temples to calm himself

"Apparently someone managed to hack the mayor's bank account and is aware of the money he received. Even worse is that the same person or people know about the encrypted message and at the moment s/he is trying to open it" Ray opened up

Loki was quiet for a few seconds before he snapped and wiped out everything on the shelf next to him out of anger.

"You sick prick!!!You said that no one would know anything about this. Now we have a guy somewhere who's about to learn about our arrangements with Mr Gallows. SON OF A FUCKING BIAACH!!!!!!" he shouted into the phone

"Don't get jumpy already, I suspected that something like this might happen, so I had my guys put something in the message" Ray responded in a manner that showed that he hadn't taken any offence from Loki's outburst.

"Which is?" Loki asked

"Whoever opens the message, the system will send us an exact position of the person. I already have a kill squad waiting for the hacker to open the message for them to know the whereabouts of the person" Ray explained

"They better do a good job or else I'll send for all of their heads to mount on my walls." Loki threatened before hanging up the phone
