Chapter 49: The Plan

Meanwhile Tyler was with Bennet as they were going over some plans on how they would break Hunters out of jail

"So, did he tell you when you're going to break him out?" Bennett asked

"Yeap, on Friday" Tyler answered

"This Friday or coming Friday?" Bennett asked a little surprised

"Coming Friday" Tyler said

"Isn't that the day that that guy Daymond will be in court?" Bennett asked

"Yes it will be" Tyler said as he printed out a map showcasing the routes to the courthouse from the prison

"So Jason is really serious about breaking this guy out. What value does he have anyways? Since I know Jason very well, he is not the guy to go out breaking someone like this just because he feels pity for him" Bennett said

"If I knew that answer Bennett, I would be the one taking the lead in breaking him out. But for now, all I know is that Jason has a plan and it involves us taking that guy from police's custody." Tyler said

"So what do you think we should do?" Bennett asked

"Well, first we need Peter in here since he's going to be the one driving" Tyler said

"Oh, Peter" Bennett called out

"Yes sir" Peter answered and within a few seconds he was in the room with them

"We prefer to plan things ahead of schedule, so that in case of any changes we have room. I hope you're not too busy to join us on this table?" Tyler asked as he cleared the living room table and set down the map

"I can't be too busy for that" Peter answered, " I'm sure Bennett can allow some free time for me to offer my help here"

"Sure thing, we could really use all hands on deck" Bennett said

"So, what are we looking at?" Peter asked

"To break it down, we are getting him out on Friday, next week's Friday to be more specific. And we are currently trying to figure out how do we do a snatch and grab in the middle of the day with streets that will be fully packed" Tyler answered

"A snatch and grab you say, in broad daylight, sounds just like a good plan. Why not anywhere else? You know, without packed streets and broad daylight?" Peter asked

"Because that's the only opportunity that we can get, he won't come out of those prison walls before his hearing. And after his sentence he probably won't ever step out of those walls for the rest of his life. So that's why" Bennett answered

"And would you rather we start printing out blue prints for the whole prison? Start collecting data on the shifts that those guards work? Start looking for a way in and out of the most secure prisons in Panem?" Tyler asked

"Now that you put it like that, no" Peter answered

"So snatch and grab it is" Tyler said as he fished out his phone from his pocket

"So what's the plan?" Bennett asked Tyler

"I looked up the prison's transfer patters for the past five years, and I learnt that they always used a specific route nearly everytime going and coming back from the prison. They start here" Tyler said as he indicated with a pen the starting point from the prison gate. "They then use the Daniels street going under the highway, passing by the police department where they pick up an extra police escort along the way since by law they need an official police officer who is assigned to escort the group from the station to the courthouse and back to the prison then it goes back to the station" Tyler told them

"Does the route ever change?" Bennett asked

"That's the interesting part, most snatch and grabs are always done after the person has been convicted, so the route changes on the way back. It always changes on the way back" Tyler answered

"I thought you said we are doing this after he's been convicted and is on the way back?" Peter asked

"Exactly" Tyler answered

"And you just said that most snatch and grabs are done on the way back, doesn't that sound a bit to obvious for them to be waiting for us to strike? Or am I seeing this and differently?" Peter asked as he faced Bennett to get a word from him

"The kid does have a point" Bennett said

"He does have a point, but the transport is always cautious when they are on lonely streets, with no cameras and no traffic" Tyler said with a wicked smile on his face

"Bennett, you know him better, so when he kinda said that last part I felt like he was saying that we are going to strike in the middle of a busy street with traffic and cameras all over" Peter said as he looked at Bennett

"Sadly, I too somehow got that same feeling and interpretation that you got Peter" Bennett said as he looked at Tyler with a straight face." You intend to strike in the middle of a busy street with traffic and cameras everywhere?" Bennett asked

"It's called the element of surprise" Tyler answered

" That's completely absurd! No one would be crazy enough to pull off such a move" Peter said out loud before it started to sink in. "Wait, that's exactly what you are relying on, aren't you? No one in their right mind can possibly think of doing it in any open place except for--"

"--us" Bennett finished Peter's statement as it to sank in his thoughts

"I see that both of you are catching on" Tyler said

"I guess we are, but that still doesn't change the fact that this is probably one of the craziest plans in history. If there was a record for the craziest plans in all of history this one would definitely take that crown hands down" Bennett said

"I get it, it's crazy, no need to keep bringing that up" Tyler said

"But wait a moment, I'm still trying to figure something out" Peter said as he looked at the map laid out on the table

"What's that?" Bennett asked him

"You said that they always change routes, and we strike then they're on the way back. How exactly are we going to know which route they are going to use on their way back? Since I'm sure this is not one of those last minute details" Peter said

"Good question, Tyler?" Bennett said as he turned to Tyler

"There's one thing that I noticed with the prison transport, it's almost impossible for anyone to notice unless you look closely. Everytime they transported a prisoner back that changed the route--" Tyler said before Bennett cut him in

"--we kinda established that already" Bennett said

"I know, but what you didn't know is that they always used one similar route back when transporting high profile criminals. One route every time on the way back. It has not changed in the past five years.I did my research, that is the only trend that has never changed" Tyler said

"But Hunters is not much of a high profile criminal" Peter said

"He might not be, but considering that the mayor is watching this case hawkeye style,I have a feeling that Hunters just became a high profile criminal" Tyler said

"How can you be so sure that they will use the same route?" Peter asked

"A few things lie, but numbers never lie. I've done the maths and it says that they will use that route" Tyler said

"And our fate lies in maths, my nemesis" Peter said as he gave a chuckle

"Have some faith in the plan" Bennett told Peter

"Oh I have faith in the plan alright, I'm worried about cameras getting a picture of my good side. We at least owe the world a good show" Peter said
