Chapter 23: Office Quickie

 Jason dialed Tyler's number,after a few rings he picked up

"It's good to hear from you" Tyler said

"Ain't nothing better than to have three killers to get you when you're enjoying a good date." Jason replied

"I wish it was me. Anyways,you're out of the bushes since I made sure your name doesn't pop up on their little screens since I don't want them lighting up your house like the fourth of July" Tyler said as he gave a chuckle

"If only believing that were possible" Jason replied with a bit of sarcasm

"Oh come on. Now if they kill you so early where's the fun in what we have in store for them. Plus, you do remember you're more of the brains in this whole thing."Tyler said

"Okay okay. Now,where do we stand?" Jason asked

"So currently we know that the mayor is being stuffed with cash to make sure Daymond rots in prison,the president is funding the whole thing,the state wants us dead and we still have no clue on where the actual Serb Slayer is. That sounds just about right don't it?" Tyler replied and then asked

"Don't forget the part where my cover was almost blown by Alpha" Jason added on

"Oh,that. Almost forgot that." Tyler replied." So,what's our next move?"he asked

"Well,it seems like the bees don't mind stinging people. It's about time we show those bees that we also don't mind striking their hive" Jason replied

"I already like where this is going,fill me in" Tyler said

"I want you to listen to me carefully,so....." Jason went on to give Tyler the instructions

 Immediately after finishing the call Alpha knocked on the office door, Jason was alone again and told him to come in

"Hey, what's up" Alpha greeted him as he walked in

" Nothing much,just working over here on the case" he replied

"So,any leads yet?" Alpha asked as he sat down

Jason looked into his eyes and weighed out whether to tell him of his new findings or not. He thought fast and saw it best to let Alpha only know about the interference caused by the state. So after a short moment of silence,Jason finally answered,

"No,nothing yet. This is going to take a lot from me. It's not as easy as it looks so give me some time and I'll have your feedback"Jason answered

"Jason,the main reason why I chose you is because you are the best in the business that I know of. Hell,you could be best in the whole damn world. So I'm depending on your skill set on this one. You know that this case means more to you than to me,so I need you to operate at your best. I want you asking the hard hitting questions,I want you to rephrase every testimony given and find those loose ends that no one else can see. I'm counting on you to prove all of these people wrong" Alpha said as he handed him another set of documents." In there you'll find more information about the day that Daymond' daughter died. I'm not sure if you'll be able to get anything from them but it does seem that you have third eye which enables you to see what we can't"

"Great. More work,why am I not surprised. You do now that I'm getting a raise for this?" Jason asked

" Stop your whining,you will get your fair share for the trouble" Alpha said as he got up and was about to leave. Just then Athena walked into the office

" Oh hey boss,hey Jason" she said as she came in and greeted both of them. "So to what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" She asked

"Nothing much. I just dropped by to check up on the both of you and how you are enjoying the office so far" Alpha replied

" That's nice of you. So far so good, at least now I can talk to someone instead of sitting around and working solo in here tempted to listen to some sad music for company." Athena said as she sat down

"Now that you put it that way I think I should've done this way before. Seems like you have been suffering for some time" Alpha said as he was exiting the office." Now I expect you both to get back to work and please don't let me down. No pressure but I just want you to know that the whole nation has its eyes on my company, which means that they also have their eyes on you."

"Yeah, you really know how not to make someone's nerves very cool, especially with the no pressure part." Jason said without even lifting his head from the files.

Immediately Alpha left the office, Athena looked at Jason who could feel her prying eyes on her.

"You know I can feel your eyes on me." Jason said

"Yes I do, well, you have been quiet of late. Considering what happen between us on Friday." She said

"It's about that," Jason said like a man who just got relieved for not hearing any bad news.

" Yes, it's about that" Athena said as she got up from her chair and started walking towards Jason. At this point, Jason looked up at her to see what she was up to.

"Athena, you know that we're at work right now, so whatever might be going through that mind of yours.... Please tell it to press pause until we're out of these premises." Jason said as he saw her advance towards him

She stopped in her tracks and Jason could see that her wheels were turning, he almost let out a sigh of relief but then the mischievous smile was back on her face. She walked to the door and locked it from the inside. Immediate Jason knew what she had in mind and there was no way of turning her down. She walked to where he was seated and pulled his chair back slightly. She then sat on top of him like a cowgirl. She pushed her boobs on his chest making both of them intensify their breathing

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Jason asked her in a low deep voice that turned her on.

"Jason,it's Kayla. We have some breaking news. The mayor ,Mr Gallows ,has been shot"
