Chapter 32: Jailbreak Idea

 "Are you one of those lawyers that keep coming here asking me questions that they obviously know but for some reason you still ask them.?" Lionel asked

"No, but allow me to ask, so far how's that going for you?" Jason asked

"Not good, they come and after the questions they just go and don't communicate." Lionel answered

"Why am I not surprised" Jason said

"Who are you again?" Lionel asked

"Name's Leo, remember it because I might be the only guy who can get you out of this predicament" Jason answered."

"The name doesn't ring a bell, I'm not sure we can be of use to each other"Lionel told him

"It's not a matter of whether you know me or you don't. It's a matter of we have a common enemy whom we both would want to deal with." Jason said

"I have no enemies Mr Leo. You have the wrong man" Lionel told him

"Says the person who's behind bars with allegations that look like they were picked up from a movie." Jason told him

"Like I said, you have the wrong man" Lionel repeated again

"You don't get it, do you? You're here, not by accident but because someone set you up. And that someone won't stop until you get life without possibility of parole in here." Jason told him

"And who is our enemy?" Lionel asked

"Does the name Gallows sound familiar?" Jason asked as he watched for his reaction. And as expected, he saw Lionel's eyebrows raise slightly and his face getting a mixture of realization and confused emotions.

"There we go. It seems after all, I have the right guy" Jason said

"He's the one helping me with the case, he's the last guy who'd be my enemy." Lionel said

"And so far how's the progress?" Jason asked

"Not great. But at least he's trying" Lionel answered

"Trying? The mayor with all that he has, is having issues with a case like yours? Look at the bigger picture"Jason said

"How am I sure that you're not like the other lawyers?" Lionel asked

"That's because I'm not a lawyer to start with" Jason answered

"And how are you going to help me? Or is this the part where you tell me that you know a guy?" Lionel asked

"Well everyone has their ways, I have mine. But I need to know something, what did you do for them so that they put you here?" Jason asked

"I'm not telling a complete stranger nothing about my life." Lionel answered him

"I might be the only stranger that you will meet who's willing to help you" Jason said

"I'm not buying it. I'm not buying the whole good guy act, it's just too good to be true" Lionel said

Jason looked at him keenly wondering the best approach he'd have to take so that he can have what he wants from Lionel

"This day can either be the day that you get some hope in life or this will be the day that you seal your fate,so if I were you I would be very wise. You are somehow connected to the mayor, or you know something about him and that's why you are here" Jason said as he watched him closely

"Like I said, I'm not telling you anything. As long as I barely know you, nothing's coming out of mouth." Lionel said

"That's exactly it. You know something, don't you? Why do you think you're here? It's because you are a liability" Jason told him

"You know, so far you haven't told me how you know me" Lionel said

"I have my ways." Jason said as his phone rang,"give me a sec to answer this." He walked away from there and picked it seeing it's Tyler who called

"Can I call you back in a few? I'm with Hunters right now." Jason said

"That's exactly why I'm calling you. Lionel was not just set up for no reason. After seeing how good our guy is,I saw that though he has a clean file, he has enemies in such places."Tyler said

"Where are heading at? Because this guy is not even close to cracking anytime soon" Jason said

"That's because he can't. Everyone has a closet full of skeletons, and Hunters' closet is full of them. I found his name in a blacksite" Tyler said

"What's a blacksite?" Jason asked

"Think of a website for shopping. Now picture the same website but now for hitmen, high ranking hitmen to be specific. Whoever you have there is anything but innocent." Tyler said

"You're telling me this man right here is a Hitman?" Jason asked

"He's more than one, he's a very good hitman" Tyler said

"No wonder he's here, my best bet is he did something dirty for them and they don't want him sqealing out here. Thanks Tyler, I know exactly how to corner him" Jason said as he ended the call and went to where Lionel was.

"You know, I can tell when a man is lying and from the get go you've been doing a whole lot of lying and you are very bad at it." Jason told him

"What are you talking about?" Lionel asked

"I know who you are and what you do. You did their dirty work and now they see you of no use to them. I don't know who you killed but congratulations, I'm sure the cash they even paid you, you won't even have the chance to taste it. But if you want to stay here and act like you don't know you got screwed over, you can as well as look for a good bed around here because this is going to be your home for a long time. And judging from the way the mayor had chosen to deal with you, I'm sure you won't even make it to your first jail anniversary. Now I won't sit here and try to reason with you. I gave you a chance at freedom, and you wasted it" Jason said as he got up and was about to leave. Just when he got to the door he heard Hunters call out to him

"Leo, wait", he said and Jason, with his back turned to Lionel smiled knowing his reverse psychology tactic had worked. He turned and went back to the table and told him to speak up

"Yes, I did something for him. Something that's illegal" Lionel started

"By illegal you mean you killed someone for him. And yes, I know exactly what you do for a side hustle."Jason said

"That's all I can say for now. If you want more, you're going to have to get me out of here first" Lionel said

"You have a deal" Jason told him

"So, how fast can you get me out of here?" Lionel asked

"Well, I first have to come up with a good plan" Jason replied

"You didn't have a plan?" Lionel asked

"I didn't know I needed one till now. I'll be back in a few days with one, just try not to die in here" Jason answered as he got up

Immediately he left the prison, he called Tyler

"Talk to me" Tyler said

"Well thanks to you, we have a solid lead on the mayor" Jason told him

"What would you do without me?" Tyler asked

"Survive" Jason said as he laughed

"You wish. There's basically nothing that you've asked from me and I've failed to deliver" Tyler said beaming with pride

"Yeah, about that...." Jason said

"What now?" Tyler asked knowing that the wheels in Jason's head were turning

"Remember how you've just said a minute ago how there's nothing I've asked from you and you have failed to deliver?" Jason asked

Tyler could feel whatever Jason was about to ask from him was going to be a really messed up request, so he just answered," Jason, I already don't like what you're about to ask me. But who cares, what are you planning to do?"

"I'm planning a jailbreak, and you Tyler, are going to help me" Jason answered him
