Chapter 50: The Plan 2

"Since you are the man with the plan, why don't you tell us your plan" Bennett said

"First of all, I think we need to understand a few things. This is not like in the movies where if we find ourselves in a shootout we are the good guys and somehow the bullets well miss us."Tyler said

"Well that's not the best of motivational speeches I can say I've heard but, I'll go with it" Peter said

"Looks like our doubting Thomas has gone for a hike, that's a good starting point. Go on" Bennett told Tyler as he gave Peter a pat on the shoulder

"Great, so everyone here has a role to play" Tyler started out

"Even me?" Bennett asked

"Even you, you dodged driving duty but not the whole thing" Tyler answered him

"So if I'm the gateway driver, who's he" Peter asked as he pointed at Bennett

"He's my backup shooter" Tyler answered him

"How good is your marksmanship?" Peter asked Bennett

"You know the shootings that have been happening around town?" Bennett asked in return

"Yes I do" Peter answered

"Who do you think is the one doing it?" Bennett followed up with another question

"With the latest eye opener on whatever you guys have been doing and are planning, I would say my best guess is with Tyler" Peter answered

"Correct, think about his teacher now. Just a food for thought" Bennett said to him

"Wait, you--"Peter started joining the dots and it all made sense to him now." I rest my case"

Tyler went on to explain his findings with them.

"So, everytime they transport a high profile criminal they use an almost similar route. And I say almost similar route since the roads cross paths near Sin City Park. Just before you get to that junction there's a whole street that stretches nearly fifty metres long and the road has four lanes going in one direction. On one side there's a big hotel, one of those that have an outside catering area. On the other side there's a whole business block from drycleaners to pawn shops, you name it. The street is one of the most secure blocks in the city due to the high number of surveillance cameras capturing every angle of the block." Tyler said

"After listening to all that, anyone else feels like this is a very bad idea?" Peter asked

"And doubting Thomas is back with us again" Bennett said like a mother who just heard their baby start crying after spending hours trying to get them to sleep

"What now?" Tyler asked Peter

"Nothing, I just heard you lay down how the battlefield is going to be and for the second time straight I still think this idea is completely crazy"

"You are not paid to see how many possible ways that this plan could go south" Bennett told Peter

"I just realized I'm not even getting paid a dime for this" Peter complained after realizing that he actually didn't even ask if he was going to get anything in return." I'm not putting my life on the line for free you know"

"How much are you paying him?" Tyler asked Bennett

"Per month?" Bennett asked to confirm

"Yes per month" Tyler said

"Uuhm, around twenty grand. It's twenty , isn't it?" Bennett asked Peter

"Yeah twenty grand" Peter confirmed

"Well if you do this job, I'll have my friend here Bennett add another zero making it two hundred grand for the rest of the year with an all expenses paid for vacation for the holidays in Hawaii for two. Do we still have an issue with where and what time we are doing this?" Tyler said before asking him at the end to confirm if he was still on board

"With that offer on the table I guess all I can ask is, let's get down to business shall we" Peter said." But just out of curiosity, where will all that money come from?"

"Contributions from various leaders, they are so generous that they stash their dirty money in offshore accounts thinking that it is safe" Tyler said

"Now back to the plan, what do you know about the prison transport?" Bennett asked

"Oh, about that. So they usually use three cars. The police car that they pick up at the station, one backup car and the transport car. The backup car usually has two armed officers with assault rifles. They never go more than six feet from the transport car. But one thing, their car is not bullet proof" Tyler said

"So they're sitting ducks in that car, but why pay so much attention to them?" Peter asked

"That's because their orders are always the same, 'shoot to kill anyone who does anything funny'" Bennett said

"That's why we need them nowhere near that transport van" Tyler added on

"But you just said that they won't go anywhere far from my the car, like I'm sure at the first sight of danger that's exactly where they'll go" Peter said

"Not unless we give them a reason not to get anywhere close to the van" Tyler said

"And how will we do that?" Peter asked

"Leave that to me" Bennett said

"Now to the escort, the number of people can vary, one or two. And basically no one cares who escorts it since the chances of anyone doing anything funny is about two percent. I'll handle that so don't worry." Tyler said

"No problem, now to the big pot of gold. What do we need to know about it?" Peter asked

"So it's a modern Nissan van. Grilled windows, bullet proof from head to tail and can only be opened from the outside by someone who has the code. It can survive armour piercing rounds up to four hundred rounds."

"So there's no way we are going to take down that machine" Bennett said

"We are not going to try to beat the machine, we'll actually use that to our advantage. We don't want Hunters getting shot in the crossfire. So to add on, the van usually has two people at the front, one driver and one passenger. Both heavily armed, in addition to this there is always one guard with the prisoner in the back. His orders are to ensure the prisoner doesn't free himself from the chains. Another order is that if he hears any threat through the comms and someone opens the door from the outside without a radio call to say that the threat is neutralized, he will open fire at anyone who will be standing outside that door." Tyler said

"Well that's a hell of a welcoming committee" Bennett said." So how are we going to get that door open without being turned into tea Sievers.?" He asked

"I'm working on that" Tyler said

"So about the exact street where we strike, how long will the response team take?" Peter asked

"That's another thing, where we strike puts us at the farthest point of any police stations and security agents that might come to help. The average response time is two minutes, but this one buys us five minutes to hit them hard and leave. I'm also working on something that will send a power surge across town for about forty seconds. This means all comms, cameras and any electronic devices well be off for that period of time" Tyler said

"Like an emp" Bennett said

"Yes like an emp, but it will only affect the region under the highway with a hundred meter radius" Tyler said

"Why do that there and not where we're doing the snatch and grab? Plus isn't that near the prison? Like very near?" Bennett asked

"That's because when we do the snatch and grab, we won't use a getaway car from there" Tyler answered

"What will we use to get under the highway?" Peter asked

"We are going to use their own transportation van" Tyler answered
