Chapter 38: Unknown Visitor

 Ray was in his house drinking scotch the rocks when one of the maids and handed him the phone

"You have a call sir" she said." It's from the prison"

" Thank you," he said as he picked the phone and put it next to his ear." Hello"

"Mr Ray, I hope you're having a good evening" the warden said

"I'm having a good time, pretty relaxed with no stress. So I really hope you are not calling me to ruin my night" Ray said

"No, no, no, sir. I'm merely calling since you told me that should anyone visit Hunters I'm supposed to inform you" the warden said

"Did anyone visit him?" Ray asked

"Yes, by the name Leo or something. But I'm being told he came and had a chat with Hunters for a few minutes" the warden answered

"Did your guys get anything from their conversation?" Ray asked

"Unfortunately no," the warden replied

"Wait....I thought I personally instructed you that no one should visit him" Ray said

"That's why I called you, because it's funny to me. I wasn't around when the visitor came by, but according to the staff they're telling me that the meeting was scheduled out of nowhere in the system" the warden said

"What are you trying to say?" Ray asked

"So sir, our system is fully digitalised. Meaning for one to visit a prisoner, they need to go to our website and request a visit" the warden explained

"So it's more like you place an order to visit a prisoner?" Ray asked

"Yes, that's a better way of putting it. I personally edited the system to take Hunters of the visiting system. I didn't make this public since questions would start arising" the warden said

"And how comes that someone paid Hunters a visit?" Ray asked

"Till now that's what is baffling me, since the officers here do not know that he is not supposed to be visited, they assumed that it was just another visit. Whoever came here somehow set up the visit and no one could have guessed that it was not possible" the warden answered

"Ok, get me every surveillance camer's feed in that place" Ray said

"That is another reason why I called you" the warden said

"If you tell me you don't have them I'll have you--" Ray said before he was cut short

"We have them sir, we have them" the warden assured

"--but" Ray said

"But, it seems like there's some sort of sorcery here" the warden said

"Sorcery? I'm not adding a few extra zeros in your account to tell me about some hill Billy sorcery shenanigans" Ray shouted

"Sir, I think you're going to have to watch this for yourself. I've sent the feed that shows the visitor coming in till he leaves." The warden said

"Ok let me watch it" Ray said as he opened his laptop and checked the video footage

As he watched it, he immediate noticed something wrong. Every time that Jason came into any camera's view, his face became white. Like literally shining white, the kind you see when you look up at the sun. Ray looked at every camera, even the ones that just caught a glimpse of him but all of them had the same effect. He replayed all of them over and over trying to figure out what was happening to all the cameras

"Warden, what the hell am I looking at? What kind of sorcery is this?" Ray asked

"That's what I said, it looks like your guy had some sort of way that he could manipulate the cameras into making him walk head held high without fear since he can't be seen" the warden answered

"I know this method. I've seen it before in a bank robbery about a few years back. Five guys walked into a back and robbed it clean, left nothing behind. When we checked the footage, none of their faces were visible under the cameras. Till date, no one has ever caught them since you can't catch something you don't know the way it looks. My tech guys told me it takes high level hacking skills to do this. Whoever this guy is working with, is a master hacker" Ray said as he tried looking further for clues." And what about Hunters?"

"What about him" the warden asked

"Have you tried talking to him. See what he got from his visitor" Ray said

" Oh that, yes we've already tried that. He not going to crack, just says that the man was somehow Godsent." The warden replied

"A pastor maybe?" Ray asked

"I thought so too. I mean it would make sense in a crazy man's logic that a man of God had God in his side as he walked through past the cameras" the warden joked

"Real funny. On a serious note, does he know that we are the reason he is in there to start with?" Ray asked

"I don't think so. He still believes that it's a case of mistaken identity." The warden replied

"Good, under no circumstance should he know about that. I don't want a parrot ruining our government" Ray said

"I'll make sure of that" the warden said

"And do me another favor, tell your little minions that if they let anyone else visit Hunters, they'll be the ones in those cages, ok?" Ray said

"Understood sir" the warden said

"And also, upgrade your security system. If anyone even gets hint that someone invited themselves to the prison, that's a story we can't deal with" Ray said

"I understand sir" the warden said

"Now allow me to call the president and know how soon we can deal with that roach.I wonder how good his sense of humour is when it comes to sorcery" Ray said as he ended the call.

He dialed the president's residential phone which rang a couple of times before he gave up calling. He then dialed the president's personal phone, it rang for a while but it was picked and the voice of a woman said hello

"Hello Ray" the woman's voice said

"If it isn't the first lady, I hope you are doing good?" Ray asked

"Yes, thank you for asking. I'm hoping there's nothing of urgency that you need to talk to my husband about such that you had to call at this hour" she said

"Unfortunately it is kind of urgent that I need to talk to the president" Ray answered

"Fine, but make it fast. You don't know how hard it is to get this man all to myself for even just one night" she said

"I promise, I'll make it fast" Ray assured

He then heard her call out to Loki telling him that she had Ray on the line for him

"Hello, what's so important that you can't wait to call me tomorrow?" Loki asked

"It can't wait, how fast can you rush Hunter's court ruling?" Ray asked

"I can have that arranged as soon as next week. Why the sudden rush?" Loki asked

"I have a reason to believe that Hunters might be compromised. He had a visitor today." Ray told him

"I thought you told me that no one from the outside world can get to him as long as he's in there?" Loki asked

"I thought so too" Ray answered

"Who was his visitor?" Loki asked

"That's why I called you. We have nothing on the visitor. No ID, no picture, no name since the one he used was a fake one" Ray said

"What do you mean, not even a picture?" Loki asked a bit confused

"That's the funny part. Weird question, do you believe in sorcery?" Ray asked

"What kind of question is that?" Loki asked

"That's the only reasonable explanation that I can give concerning our mystery visitor. Just get on those phones before anything goes South on us" Ray said
