Chapter 71: Orchestra Master

 As this as happening, a meeting was being held in LA associates building. Alpha was just from addressing his entire staff. He told them how he appreciated the effort that they had put on this particular case. He thanked all of them for working even extra hours just so that they could meet the deadlines. Once he was done appreciating them, he was appreciated by the staff with a round of applause from them. He went up to his office on the last floor in the building where another group awaited him.

When he walked in, he was greeted by a handful of faces. In the room were the Krovaçic brothers, Daymond together with his wife Belinda, Jason and Athena. All were waiting for him to finish addressing the staff downstairs and now finalize their battle plan going into the court room.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen" he said as he went to his table and took a seat. The was some tension in the air as it as clearly a big day for all of them. For Alpha, it was all about the image of his company to even foreign investors and possible future clients. To the Magraffs, it was the day when they could get some freedom from the shackles that the entire state of Panem had tied them down to with this frame job and hopefully from there they could pursue justice for the murder of their daughter.

For the Krovaçic brothers, it as the day that would mark their start on handling big cases and try to fill the shoes of their late father. It was this day that they would start their legacy and what would be better than to start it with the same man that walked side by side with their father and worked hand in hand to create his own legacy, the Ghost himself.

Athena's involvement was in handling the numerous donations that had come from all across the globe from people who said that Daymond needed to be represented in the highest stature possible by making sure that his value in terms of paying for LA associate's services was at it's highest.

And lastly, for Jason, today was the day where he would officially start making his comeback as the Ghost of Europe even though not yet publicly. This would also set the ball rolling in readiness for his plans in Sin City. He would now officially be on the right track going after what had brought him to Panem in the first place. Of all the members who were in that room, Jason was the one who was invested more in the outcome of the court case. 

Alpha had a brief talk with them telling them how everything was ready and making sure that the brothers know what to expect and also what to bring forth in the courtroom. He assured Belinda that no matter what happens, she should be ready for any outcome even though they were certain that they would secure this win. He asked Athena to take the two of them to office where Jason was introduced as the Ghost of Europe to them so that they could have some alone time. This was because they didn't know what to expect and had to be ready for anything since they knew that the state would not take a loss lying down. As they were exiting the room, Jason,who had been silent the entire time finally spoke.

"Whatever happens today in that courtroom, I need you to be ready for it and accept it as the outcome. I would hate to give you false hope. If you believe in God or any other religious supreme beings, I'd advise you to consult them and ask for their favour today."

Daymond left the room followed by his wife who said thank you after he had finished speaking. Alpha couldn't tell why he felt like Jason wasn't as optimistic as he was before and this honestly concerned him. He wondered why Jason would say such words but still be so composed like he knew what was going to happen. Unable to suppress his thoughts, he spoke up

"Do you mind telling me what that was about?" He asked

In the room they were only four people, Jason, the brothers and Alpha. The silence before Jason spoke was evidently spooky

"I just said what I felt was needed to be said" Jason answered

" You do realize if we make a mistake or underestimate what the state is capable of, Daymond could face the firing squad or an electric chair as soon as tomorrow morning " Alpha said a little concerned at Jason's new demeanor

"Believe me when I say that thought has crossed my mind" Jason responded

" I do believe that today will be a success and sure enough, Jason helped big time on the case so we are not going in blind like we were about to do last time" Mikhail said

Jason could tell that this side of him was blending so well with Alpha. He sensed some hostility coming from him from just the way he talked or even looked at him. But he knew most of this was attributed to the stress that this case had brought to him. He understood that Alpha had to be cautious around him since he had told him before that he would not include him in his plans and this always seemed like a pin in Alpha's heel. Not knowing what your partner was doing, especially when that partner can be categorized as dangerous, cunning and manipulative, all these didn't sit right with Alpha but Jason knew that Alpha needed him and that's why he agreed to their partnership in the first place. He therefore didn't feel attacked or insulted when Alpha looked at him in the eyes and said,

"I sure do hope that today we won't be attacked, again"

When Jason heard these word he suppressed his emotions for as long as he could but when he could no longer do it, he started laughing in a slow maniacal manner that seemed to surprise even the brothers.

"Are we missing out on something?" Djokovic asked no one in particular in confusion

"I'm sure today the sky is blue and the sun will continue rising till it starts setting. I'm also sure that today we will go to the courthouse and come back unharmed" Jason responded in a manner that showed that he hadn't taken Alpha's question to heart

"I think there's something that we don't know about but they seem to know about and it involves the attack that happened days ago" Mikhail said as he was talking to his brother

"I sense some hostility from you , but not to worry since I understand where it's coming from. But I wonder,why should it start now just when we are about to make history?" Jason asked Alpha as he stood from his seat and went to the glass window that overlooked the city. He stood there admiring the view as Alpha and the brothers watched him

"I mean, it's a Friday. A good day to enjoy since it brings the week to a close. And on top of that, it could be the day that we put the nail on this coffin saving Daymond almost certain death" Jason went on as he stood by the glass window that stretched from the top to bottom. He stood there unfazed. 

"Does he seem bit odd today?" Mikhail asked Djokovic

" You tell me " Djokovic responded

"Can you imagine being the ones to show the whole world the charade that had been put up by the Panem government led by Loki? Exposing the facade that apparently not many are willing to see unless you shove it into their faces." Jason said as he stood there. He then started to do something that no one was expecting . Jason stretched out his hands to his sides and slowly started swinging the slowly making Alpha and the brothers wonder what had gotten into him. They soon realized that he was mimicking the moves of an orchestra leader with his hands. He the slowly started swaying his body from side to side. He did this rhythmically. 

Alpha wondered what had gotten into Jason and was not more concerned than before. He looked at the brothers as if he waited for them to do something but they looked back at him with blank stares.

"Can't you hear that? That's the sound of victory" Jason said as he continued with what he was doing as he hummed a tone that matched the rhythm of his moves. After a while, the moves subsided and Jason seemed to come back to a state of normalcy. When he looked at them and realized that they were confused by his actions, he just smiled and said,

"You don't expect to win if you don't have a winner's mentality" 

Alpha could not believe that this was the same man who's name was reveered in Europe. He had forgotten that Jason was also a man like him and not a majestic creature or being . Just that he had a persona and when he was not being the Ghost he was being normal. Jason had reminded him that with that display of awkward internal orchestra show.
